Stratford's contemporary fine art gallery featuring work by established and emerging local artists in a range of media including painting, drawing, photography and sculpture.

AGORA GALLERY reopens for spring with an exhibition celebrating the life and art of ANTONIE LOS (1946-2017). Primarily known as an abstract painter, the exhibition consists of a wide range of work, including earlier representational paintings, allowing unique insight into his development as an artist over 50 years of painting. Born in Deventer, Holland, Los moved with his family to Canada at the age of 8. As a student enrolled in H.B. Beal's art program in the late 1960s, Los was inspired by the vibrant London art scene and influenced by his teachers.  His paintings combine a sophisticated colour sense with his lifelong study of theology and philosophy and his interests in music, anthropology, psychology, particle physics and the little incidents and motifs of everyday life.

Exhibition Opening: Saturday, April 7, 7 to 9pm, with music by the Michael Earnie Taylor Orchestra

The exhibition will be on display until May 20, 2018

“Stratford itself is the type of walkable wholesome town Rodgers and Hammerstein might write a musical about.”
