Savour Stratford Bacon & Ale Trail

There’s nothing like a lovely hike, is there? And while it’s certainly worthwhile to explore the beautiful countryside in and around Stratford when you’re on foot, we really prefer trails of another kind—like our Chocolate Trail and our seasonal Maple Trail.

Stratford has been home to the Ontario Pork Congress for 40 years, and for good reason: Perth County is Ontario's top producer of pork. And you may be thinking to yourself, “Pork AND beer? Could there BE two better things?” We propose that you answer that question by taking a hike on the Bacon and Ale Trail on a self-guided tour of food shops and pubs.

You can purchase your Bacon & Ale Trail Gift Certificate online or your passes in person at the Stratford Tourism office.

The pass, which sells for $25 plus HST, entitles you to five stops on a self-guided tour. Each ticket will entitle you to a tasting of a unique bacon-or-ale-inspired treat and the chance to speak to some of the area’s culinary stars, as well as a chance to visit Stratford's unique restaurants and retail locations. The Bacon & Ale Trail is offered year-round, and is valid for three days from date of purchase. You can also purchase a gift voucher that the recipient can redeem for a Bacon & Ale pass, either online or in person.
