Our second Forage Feast event will center around the fiddlehead, both on the trails and at the table. These scrumptious wild edibles feed the culinary imagination from salads to soups to the main course. Follow Puck's Plenty Tours on forest trails as we collect wild edibles in season including nettles, wild leeks, trout lilys, garlic mustard and more, returning to Stratford for an upscale lunch from Nature's bounty. The meal will include locally brewed craft beer, Niagara wines as well as coffee and tea with dessert.
Time:  9:45 am - 2 pm
Cost:  $60 per person plus a handling fee and HST


 

AUGUST 2016

RadishesAugust 13, 2016   Forage and Feast*
Our Summer Forage Feast Event menu highlights a wild fare of fungi and plants that include choice summer oyster and fawn mushrooms, wild watercress, nasturtium flowers and leaves along with samples of nettle beer. Ontario craft beers will also be served plus wines from Niagara. Non alcohol drinks will be available. Coffee and tea will accompany dessert. Join us on a foraging hike through the lush forests of southwestern Ontario before returning to Stratford for a lunch from Nature's gardens.

SEPTEMBER 2016

There's something delicious about Nature this time of year.  In the forest you can smell the aromas in the air.  Watercress, wild apples and plums.  And the mushrooms:  sweet summer oysters on old hardwood, ash boletes on clustered hillsides, fawn fungi under the pines.  On this Savour Stratford Forage Feast event, we take this bounty and transform it into a lunch of salads, soups, breads and cheeses accompanying the main course and dessert.  Join un on trails twenty minutes from Stratford before returning for your meal, which by the way, includes locally brewed craft beer and wines from Niagara. The popular Savour Stratford Forage and Feast events continue into the month of October when mushrooms are ripe for picking.  Bring your baskets and paper bags as we take to trails just minutes from town to collect these amazing fungi along with wild edible plants.  Then return to Stratford where an upscale lunch of Nature's fare awaits you.  The lunch includes locally brewed craft beer, Niagara wines along with non-alcohol beverages plus coffee and tea with dessert.

The deeper we move into the autumn the more bountiful the mushrooms, among them the Pear Shaped Puffball, Blewits (they're really blue), Fall Oysters, Fawn Fungi and more.  Join us on trails twenty minutes from town as we collect these delicious wild edibles.  Then return to Stratford where a lunch of Nature's Bounty awaits you.  Salad garnished with watercress, wild mushroom soup, truffle gouda precede the main course of rice curry.  Locally brewed craft beer and Niagara wines accompany your meal while coffee and tea will be served along with dessert.  There is a reason Travel & Leisure Magazine listed Puck's Plenty Tours and Stratford as one of the top foraging spots in the world. Our final Savour Stratford Forage and Feast event for 2016 has a theme.  Chanterelles!  One of the finest of wild mushrooms, rated as choice by chefs worldwide, will be featured in our soup as well as a side dish accompanying our main course.  Locally brewed craft beer, Niagara wines and non alcohol beverages will be included.  Coffee and tea will also be available with dessert.  Join us on trails in and around Stratford as we collect a variety of Nature's wild bounty before returning to Straford where your meal awaits you.
