Savour Stratford Tutored Tastings

Enjoy signature tastings presented by Savour Stratford Perth County that feature delicious local fare and unique culinary combinations. Tutored Tasting

August 22nd Forage and Feast*
Join us on our mid-Summer Savour Stratford Forage and Feast event as we search forest trails for wild mushrooms such as Ash Boletes, Oyster Mushrooms, Pink Bottom Mushrooms, Giant Puffballs and more. Our next stop will be Deer Haven Farm to search for....you guessed it....more mushrooms. Then return to the Knox Church Banqet Hall in downtown Stratford for an upscale lunch of wild edibles in season. VQA Wines, craft beer from local breweries and samples of Puck's Plenty Nettle beer will also be available. 
Time:  9:45 am - 2 pm
Cost:  $60 per person plus a handling fee and HST


SEPTEMBER 2015

Tutored tastingSeptember 12th Forage and Feast*
It's mushroom time and we will be celebrating the season with a foraging trek along forest trails only a fifteen minute drive from Stratford. We will also visit Deer Haven Farm where the magic woods are home to countless more mushrooms including Lactarius Delicious, Blewits and Gem Studded fungi. Then return to the Knox Church Banquet Hall in downtown Stratford for an upscale lunch of wild edibles in season. VQA Wines, craft beer from local breweries and samples of Puck's Plenty Nettle beer will also be available. 
Time:  9:45 am - 2 pm
Cost:  $60 per person plus a handling fee and HST 

OCTOBER 2015

Foraging and FeastOctober 3rd Forage and Feast *
Savour Stratford Forage Feast events continue with a foraging trek along forest trails only twenty minutes from Stratford. We will also visit Deer Haven Farm where the magic woods are home to countless more mushrooms including Lactarius Delicious, Blewits and Gem Studded fungi. Then return to the Stone Maiden Inn, Stratford, for a lunch of foraged wild edibles. VQA Wines and craft beer from local breweries will also be available.

Cider and CheeseOctober 10, 2015  Cider & Cheese Pairing*
The popularity and variety of traditional ciders available in Ontario has exploded. Cider pairs wonderfully with great cheese; we invite you to spend the afternoon with some new discoveries in fermented deliciousness.

October 17October 17, 2015   Forage and Feast*
This is our final Savour Stratford Forage Feast event of the year as we continue with a trek along forest trails only twenty minutes from Stratford. Blue CheeseOctober 24, 2015  Blue Cheese & Port*
A classic pairing. We'll sample a variety of Blue Cheeses from around the world with a late harvest Vidal, a Spanish sherry, and of course, a Port. Plan to walk home, please.

Dark BeerOctober 31, 2015  Dark Beer & Stinky Cheese*
A great start to Hallowe'en! Some great dark beer varieties paired with some smelly fromage! Costumes optional.
