VIEW ITINERARY  (what's this?)

Schoolgirls with candy apples

Stratford and Perth County provide a variety of experiences for small and large groups of travelers. As home to the internationally renowned Stratford Festival, there are group rates for theatre performances throughout the season. The Festival offers guided tours of the backstage, special talks and lectures giving an insider's view of the theatre, throughout the season. A visit to Stratford would not be complete without a stop at the Costume and Props Warehouse, housing one of the world's largest collections of theatre paraphernalia.

Also consider a visit to the Blyth Festival, a few miles down the road. Your group's itinerary can easily include both Shakespearean and contemporary Canadian plays.

Stratford is a Victorian architectural jewel with a reputation for maintaining its 19th century heritage largely intact. There is an active heritage association that regularly offers informative and entertaining walking tours of the commercial, civic and religious architecture of the historic downtown - with plenty of opportunities to visit our boutiques and restaurants - as well as the cottages and mansions in the surrounding residential districts close by. Only a few minutes away is the famous stonetown of St. Marys and its famous limestone architecture.

One cannot miss the Avon River, the multitude of swans and the numerous gardens that stretch from the downtown to the Festival Theatre. Stratford is a regular finalist in Canada's annual Communities in Bloom competition and has won numerous awards, recently including an international award for one of the loveliest cities in the world. We can offer customized tours in the late Spring through the Fall.

Theatre, history and lovely gardens are complimented by the sounds of one of Canada's remarkable music festivals - Stratford Summer Music. Every July and August critically acclaimed international musicians come and perform in historic concert halls and churches, in free concerts along the river banks and at midnight cabarets. There are unique opportunities to attend intimate concerts, sometimes with fewer than 100 people, to hear world-class opera, jazz, blues, orchestras, organ recitals and choirs.

The combination of Perth County's reputation as one of the richest agricultural areas in North America and the internationally recognized Stratford Chefs School makes Stratford one of Canada's newest culinary destinations. We are pleased to offer customized culinary classes, epicurean treks and visits to organic and artisanal food growers and producers, as well as some of the finest dining experiences serving local products from the vicinity of 100 miles.

The experiences for organized group travel in Stratford and Perth County are extensive, and we have yet to mention that are area is home to one of North America's largest Amish communities.
