Featuring Perth County's best locally produced food, drink and crafts, Stratford's Slow Food Market runs every Sunday between 10 am and 2 pm. From May to mid - October the market is located in Market Square, behind City Hall. During the winter, the market can be found inside at the Festival Square - 10 Downie Street.
Come out all season long for hot coffee/cider, product demos, music, etc. And of course, all the good, clean, fair food you can carry! Hope to see you there!

About Slow Food:
The network of over 85 000 Slow Food members is organized into local groups (Convivia) - which organize courses, tastings and dinners, promote campaigns at local level and participate in large international events. Earth Is a Container
Wrapped in its atmosphere, our natural environment is a good teacher of how to create healthy container gardens. As a connection to the earliest of human technologies, gardening offers the opportunity to care for other beings while receiving joy from their flowers, fruits and the biodiversity that is found outdoors.
Tips from earth for good growing include:
- A pot that is right for the roots and shoots
- Drainage holes
- Water retention systems, whether a dish or the ground
- Soil teaming with beneficial organisms made from Mother Earth specific to your plants needs
- Seeds or starter plants reflecting Good, Clean and Fair principles
- Creative mulch
- Locations that are tailored to the plants needs and reflect your need to enjoy and care for them
In planning for your containers and plants, stay open to creativity, encourage biodiversity and heartiness and mimic natural systems wherever you can. Then see, smell and eat the fruits of your labour.
